The excellent premises of Guesthouse Mattila and the beautiful nature around it offer a great opportunity to take a little breather from the daily grind. Cycling routes

There are some great cycling routes in the surroundings of Guesthouse Mattila – try out for example the picturesque Kojola route (22,5 km). For more information about the official cycling routes can be found on the pages of Visit Sastamala.

House of Mr. Clutterbuck

In Sastamala city centre, ten kilometers from Guesthouse Mattila, lies the lovely House of Mr. Clutterbuck. A visit to this house with children is always as memorable as the next, we warmly recommend it!

Pukstaavi

In the same block as the House of Mr. Clutterbuck, you can find the Museum of Finnish Book Pukstaavi. The changing exhibitions pique the interest of visitors of all ages.

Swimming beach

The closest swimming beach is one kilometer walk away from Guesthouse Mattila. Plunge into the refreshing water of lake Rautavesi from this clean and safe beach!

Tyrvään Pappila old parsonage

Tyrvään Pappila is one of the most beautifully restored former parsonages in Finland, now serving as a restaurant and a venue for events. Pappila is open for customers all year round. A lunch is served from Monday to Friday, and on Saturdays you can enjoy an abundant brunch.

Art Pappila

Sharing a courtyard with Tyrvään Pappila, theres a former stone barn nowadays housing an exhibition hall. In summer 2021, Art Pappila exhibits the magical graphic art from Marc Chagall. The exhibition showcases about 170 pieces, and the entrance is free of charge. In summer 2021, there will also be a musical about Marc Chagall played at the stone barn.
